After some uncertainty, the 2027 Formula 1 calendar has been announced, with Bahrain returning to the season opener slot instead of Australia - as a Sprint Race format. Early and late summer slots for returning circuits at Portimao and Istanbul Park are confirmed, alongside nine other Sprint rounds.

After opening with a Sprint in Sakhir, further Sprint rounds will follow at Albert Park, Suzuka, Montreal, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, Interlagos, Qatar and at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Slots previously occupied by Barcelona and Zandvoort are now at Portimao and Istanbul Park; while Madring, which debuted last round, keeps its September slot on the calendar with a later-than-usual Spanish Grand Prix.

A Sprint weekend at Monaco is sure to divide opinion with fans but new circuits with more sprint races brings a fresh look to the next F1 season.
