For the second instalment of our resurrection of 10 Questions, I’m delighted to have been joined by GB4 Championship driver, Caitlyn McDaniel!
McDaniel, 18, will race GB4 for a second successive season, moving from Fox Motorsports to Nitrous ADM in hope of challenging for more honours. The American-Nigerian star took the time to answer our questions!
1. What’s your first memory of racing?
My first memory of racing as a whole was when I was around five, and I saw the movie Cars for the first time! However, for myself, racing it was back in 2024 when I did my first open rental kart race at Daytona Sandown Park!

2. Who’s your racing hero or heroes?
I wouldn’t really say I have any “heroes”, but I greatly look up to Lewis Hamilton, not just because he's an incredible driver with an incredible story, but because he's mixed-race like me, so it’s nice to see someone like me be so successful in F1. Another driver I look up to is Lella Lombardi, who is the only woman to finish an F1 race in a points-scoring position and was also openly queer!

3. Favourite race car to drive so far in your career?
I’ve only driven three cars in my career so far, the GB4 (Gen 2) & (Gen 1) cars, and the Caterham 270R, so I have to with the GB4 Gen 2 car!

4. Proudest racing moment so far?
My proudest moment so far was definitely the last 3 races of the season at Donington Park! To see my progress from the first race weekend in GB4 to the last was incredible. I was so much closer to the front pace-wise and got to see how much more aggressive I was when it came to fighting and overtaking people around me! Having that positive side-by-side comparison and watching all the overtakings and battles throughout the weekend was a great way to end the season.
5. Do you prefer fast circuits or technical circuits?
I prefer more technical circuits; they often suit my driving style better than fast circuits. I do most of my best work in medium- to low-speed corners, so they play a little more into my strengths!
6. Race in the wet or race in the dry?
On a technical circuit, wet races get super chaotic, and the field becomes more even, which means you get to race against people you usually wouldn’t, so they're usually more fun. However, a dry race overall.
7. Favourite circuit you’ve raced on?
Definitely Oulton Park, Donington Park and Zandvoort I can’t choose between them! I think there's just something about all of them that makes them such enjoyable circuits to race at. The Side-by-side racing is always interesting around them, especially at Oulton because the track is so narrow!

8. Favourite you’ve not raced on yet?
Interlagos and Spa are my top two 100%! Those are the only two I would like to test, or at least go to at some point in my career!

9. Your favourite F1 livery of all time?
I have always been a fan of the Renault R25 livery. But more recently, I loved the Racing Bulls White Peach Miami livery. I am a bit biased, though, because the White Peach Red Bull is my favourite energy drink.
10. Who’s the best driver you’ve raced against?
Caitlyn couldn’t find an answer for this one.
Thanks to Caitlyn for her time!
The GB4 Championship kicks off in April, be sure to tune in if you can!
