Frederik Vesti will remain in the Mercedes family for the 2026 Formula 1 season alongside his campaign in the IMSA Sportscar Championship with Cadillac Whelen.
The 24 year old Dane has been with Mercedes since 2021, and the team have aided his development from Formula 3, through Formula 2 and into the next stage of his career.

He’s served as a reserve and Free Practice driver since 2024, sharing the role with Mick Schumacher before his departure and last season alongside Valtteri Bottas who has now also departed to race for new entry Cadillac.
With F1 Academy champion Doriane Pin now serving as development driver, Vesti’s role as reserve is much clearer for Mercedes.
