Williams signs Nakamura Berta to junior programme

Williams has announced today the signing of teenage driver Kean Nakamura Berta to their academy setup.

18 year old Nakamura Berta previously raced under Alpine affiliation from 2022, to the end of 2024 but now joins Williams on the back of a successful 2025.

2025 saw the British driver win the Italian F4 and E4 Championship titles, as well as racing in F4 Middle East and the F4 World Cup in Macau.

Born to Japanese mother and Slovakian father, his recognisable name is now one he and Williams will hope can be the latest to make it to F1 from the academy, following Logan Sargeant, Franco Colapinto, Nicholas Latifi and Lance Stroll to get onto the grid of the upper echelons of racing drivers.
