A camper, racing in Japan and FRECA: with Enzo Peugeot

I think if you were going to ask an AI chatbot to create and name a racing driver, it’d probably come up with something like the name of this latest guest; French-Japanese FRECA racer Enzo Peugeot!

A French F4 runner up in 2023, Enzo is preparing for his second season in Formula Regional European(FRECA), after a sure footed debut season in the series in 2024. He’s joined us for a short chat about his career to date and what the future might hold!

You’ve just been announced for a second season in FRECA! What’s the goal for 2025? Obviously the goal is to be champion but I know that it will be hard and I will give everything to achieve this result.

You can take some experience into this year, what lessons you learned in 2024 can you take into this season? My goal is to erase my mistakes in race management first of all, because the quali pace was really good. I was always around P7-P8 on the grid. I have to be more calm and lucid in races.

You’ve switched from Sainteloc to RPM for this season, what’s drawn you to that team in particular? We’ve taken a lot of time about making this decision with my dad who helps me a lot in my career. There are a lot of factors that turned our decision to RPM and I'm 100% sure that is the best decision. The potential of the team is especially big.

You find yourself between your teammates; one rookie in Enzo Yeh, and another beginning their third FRECA campaign in Giovanni Maschio - what can you learn from each driver? I think that I can learn from Giovanni for the experience with the team, how they work etc.. And from Enzo also his experience from his winter test with the team, how they did the development with the new tyres for this year.

What circuit are you most looking forward to racing on this season? Honestly pretty much every circuit but if there is one specific, Zandvoort I think or, my home track Paul Ricard.

Youve raced against some tough drivers - given your 2022 title fight in French F4, does Evan Giltaire top the list as the toughest? The toughest driver that I battled with was James Wharton. He is a really clean, smart and aggressive driver, but with a lot of fair play and respect toward other driver and the battles with him are always harsh.

James Wharton will race for ART in FIA F3 this year.

You represent dual nationality, both France and Japan, is racing in Japan something you want to do in your career too, with likes of Super Formula and Super GT being options? Yes! It is an option that I take in consideration for the continuity of my career!

Finally, tell us something interesting or unusual about yourself! From when I start racing, I always travel in camper and van to the tracks and always live on the circuit during test and race weekends!
