Buemi & Eriksson to depart Envision as Formula E season ends

Formula E series legend Sebastien Buemi and his teammate, Joel Eriksson, will depart Envision Racing at the end of the season the team has announced.

Buemi, 37, has raced in Formula E since its inception and has one title to his name, 14 race wins, 36 podiums as well as 17 pole positions and has been with Envision since 2023. He’ll take up an advisory role within the team after the season ends.

Swede Eriksson, 28, made his full season debut this season having made previous reserve appearances but despite a maiden podium finish in Shanghai, has struggled to make a strong impact.

Managing Director Sylvian Fillipi said: "This has been a difficult decision, particularly given the contribution both Seb and Joel have made to our team as we look ahead to GEN4 and an increasingly demanding Formula E calendar, we are entering an important period of development for the team. Seb's experience will remain valuable to us, and we are pleased that he will continue to support Envision Racing in an advisory and development capacity. We are grateful to both drivers for everything they have given to Envision Racing and look forward to ending the GEN3 era on a high in London” (this weekend).

Envision have been linked with British current Super Formula driver Zak O’Sullivan and multiple Formula E race winner Max Gunther as potential replacements.
