Championship heats up as both McLaren’s DSQ post race

Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri remain very much in championship contention after Piastri and championship leader teammate, Lando Norris were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

A technical non-conformity relating to plank thickness on both cars sees the McLaren’s removed from the race result. A ‘skid plank’ limits how low a team can run their car and must be a minimum thickness after a race - both cars have failed minimum testing.

The change in result pulls Max Verstappen up the Championship, now level on points with Piastri (366 points) and 24 points behind Norris (390 points) with two races left in the season (Qatar & Abu Dhabi).

Revised top 10 order:

1) Verstappen, 2) Russell, 3) Antonelli, 4) Leclerc, 5) Sainz, 6) Hadjar, 7) Hülkenberg, 8) Hamilton, 9) Ocon, 10) Bearman.
