FIA Formula 2 will make it’s race debut in Miami and in Canada at Montreal this season ager the previous cancellations of Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix were announced.
The series will run alongside Formula 1 as originally planned, with F1 Academy also on the bill in Montreal and will fill rounds three and four on the Formula 2 14 race calendar.
For one driver on the F2 grid, Colton Herta, the inclusion of a race in Canada is notable as it falls on the same weekend as the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 - which Herta was rumoured to be entering with his former team, Andretti - but that is now highly unlikely unless the Californian driver surrenders his F2 run.
