Jake Hughes has signed with Cupra Kiro for the 2026-27 Formula E season, returning after a one season absence from the series. Taylor Barnard, meanwhile, has switched from DS Penske to Fortescue Zero Racing, Formula E’s new entry.

Hughes, 32, previously raced for Maserati and McLaren in the series, as well as providing his knowledge to Mercedes, Venturi and Mahindra as simulator driver and has provided the series with four pole positions and two podiums.

Barnard, 22, has become a prominent figure in Formula E in recent seasons, becoming a race winner last year with Penske but will now race for his third team in as many seasons following from Penske and McLaren. On top of his sole victory so far, he has another five podiums and two pole positions.
