It’s not just F1 who can do title fights…

Like Formula 1, with two rounds left to race, Formula 2 has an incredible title fight about to culminate. Five drivers can say they are in contention heading into the Qatar round, with Leonardo Fornaroli, Jak Crawford, Luke Browning, Richard Verschoor and Alex Dunne all in the mix.
With two rounds to go, starting this weekend in Qatar before the Abu Dhabi finale, a maximum of 78 points are available to the drivers as follows:
25 points per Feature Race win = 50
10 points per Sprint Race win = 20
2 points per Feature Race pole position = 4
A point per fastest lap per race = 4
Fornaroli (Invicta Racing), leads with 188 points, with Crawford (DAMS) behind on 169, Browning (Hitech TGR) on 161, Verschoor (MP Motorsport) on 151 and Dunne (Rodin) on 130 - the furthest back still in contention. Five teams, five drivers: it’s going to be a tough fight. In all likelihood, two or three drives could find themselves out of the running after Qatar.

Fornaroli, last season’s Formula 3 champion - a feat he managed without winning a single race - is very much the favourite for the title, but at this level of racing, it takes one poor result from someone to change things and upset the order. That said, the Italian could leave Qatar with another Championship crown next to his name.

As exciting as F1 is, F2 is very much giving it a run for it’s money. All eyes on these next two rounds as the challengers attempt to shake up the order.
