Alpine Formula One Team have announced that Jack Doohan will be departing the team by 'mutual agreement' ahead of the 2026 Formula One season.

Doohan, who first joined the Alpine Academy in 2022, started seven Grands Prix for Alpine in 2024 and 2025 but was demoted to Reserve Driver ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. He continued as the team's Reserve Driver until his release from the team today (January 13).
On December 29 2025, Doohan released a series of images onto his Instagram which seemingly hinted that he was leaving Alpine. However, he did not add a caption to the photos nor comment publicly.
Prior to Doohan's short-lived F1 career, he won multiple races in both Formula Two and Formula Three. He was also a member of the Red Bull Junior Team from 2017 until 2021, but called the switch to Alpine a "no-brainer".
Doohan's 2026 plans have not yet been announced.
