Mercedes F1 announce 2026 Development Drivers

On January 21st, Mercedes announced that they had signed F1 Academy champion Doriane Pin as their Devlopment Driver for the 2026 Formula One season. Today, they announced that Joshua Dürksen and Anthony Davidson would be lining up alongside the French driver as their other Development Drivers.

Joshua Dürksen is a Paraguayan racing driver competing in Formula Two with Invicta Racing in 2026.
Since 2024, Dürksen has competed in FIA F2, earning himself four wins.
Prior to F2, Dürksen competed across several Formula Regional and Formula Four series with best finish of second place in the 2019 Formula 4 UAE Championship standings.

Anthony Davidson a former racing driver from Britain who previously competed in F1 and WEC. He has also served as Mercedes F1’s Simulator Driver since 2012, and was previously
their Reserve Driver.
Davidson, who has also worked as a pundit and commentator for BBC Radio 5 Live as well as Sky Sports last raced in 2021. The Briton competed in the World Endurance Championship with Jota Sport and finished third in the championship standings.
He has also assisted Codemasters with the creation of the Formula One game, even appearing as a commentator alongside David Croft.

Dürksen, Davidson and Pin will line-up alongside Frederik Vesti, the team’s Third Driver.
