George Russell took a straightforward sprint race victory at Zandvoort as he led from lights to flag in an otherwise uneventful sprint race.

As the lights went out, The Brit held off his compatriot Lando Norris, who attempted to take the lead from Russell but his efforts were too new avail as he himself was holding off Charles Leclerc.
Leclerc in his Ferrari, was the only driver in the top 10 to start on soft tyres and eventually made his tyre advantage count, passing Norris’s McLaren for second place but was unable to mount a challenge on Russell’s lead.
Elsewhere, Liam Lawson and the Red Bull and Yuki Tsunoda in the Racing Bulls cars for this weekend; ran solid races but failed to disrupt to the points scoring positions.
Rain fell heavily as the race was ending but caused no drama as it fell on the last lap.

Leclerc and Norris would round out the podium, with Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli fourth, Oscar Piastri fifth, Max Verstappen coming home sixth, Lewis Hamilton seventh for Ferrari and Pierre Gasly taking the final point in eighth.
