Single seaters stars showcase skills in Macau

This past weekend, the Guia Circuit played host to Formula Regional and Formula 4 cars, with multiple series champions, Formula 3 race winners and more on show.


Formula Regional

French racer Théophile Naël took top honours in the Formula Regional World Cup, sealing the Feature Race win with a stunning double overtake on Marí Boya (second) and compatriot Enzo Deligny (third) into the Lisboa corner (turn 3) after Freddie Slater, who had led from pole position, crashed out with four laps to go.

The previous day, Slater had taken the Qualifying Race win, after Naël had initially taken pole in qualifying.


Final order: Théophile Naël, Marí Boya, Enzo Deligny, Mattia Colnaghi, Taïto Kato, Evan Giltaire, Noah Stromsted, Matteo De Palo, Yuki Sano, José Garfias, Kanato Le, Hiyu Yamakoshi, Tymek Kucharczyk, James Egozi, Enzo Yeh, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, Owen Tangavelou, Charlie Wurz, Jin Nakamura, Rashid Al Dhaheri, Hon Chio Leong, Tokiya Suzuki.

DNF: Freddie Slater, Oscar Wurz, Kiyoshi Umegaki, Reza Seewooruthun, Chi Zhenrui.


Formula 4

Prior to Naël’s win, Jules Roussel ensured France got their day off to a blinding start, seeing off Emanuele Olivieri and Rintaro Sato to take the Formula 4 World Cup title.

Olivieri had started from pole after a win in the Qualifying Race, after original polesitter Sebastian Wheldon had crashed at Lisboa with Italian F4 champion Kean Nakamura Berta. Red Bull Junior and British F4 Champion Fionn McLaughlin had also crashed in the Qualifying Race after challenging Olivieri for the lead.


The F4 race featured no less than nine series champions from 2025.


Final order: Jules Roussel, Emanuele Olivieri, Rintaro Sato, Sebastian Wheldon, Ary Bansal, Fionn McLaughlin, Thomas Bearman, Yutsai Chan, Marcus Cheong, Gino Trappa, Tiago Rodrigues, Yuzhe Wang, Emily Cotty, Kean Nakamura Berta (+2 laps).

DNF: Rayan Caretti, Alexandre Munoz, Kyuho Lee, Itsuki Sato, Shimo Zhang.
