Taylor Barnard has extended his Formula E stay after a breakout season and switched from McLaren to DS Penske. The team has also opted to extend the deal with experienced Max Gunther and keep the German driver for another year.
Barnard, 21, finished fourth in the 2024-25 season standings, and on the way became the series’ youngest ever race starter, point scorer, podium finisher, and pole sitter along the way. A win would elude the Norwich born driver but he attracted many suitors, and has signed with Penske.

Gunther, a 99 time race starter in Formula E signed with Penske for the previous season and won two races in the season, finishing 10th in the season standings.

The season is due to start in Brazil this December with testing set to precede this. Eight seats remain unconfirmed though the rumour mill is rife, with Aston Martin reserve Felipe Drugovich linked to Andretti, Nick Cassidy to newcomers Citroen as well as double series champion Jean-Eric Vergne.
