Russell maintained the lead through the first few laps, with Ferrari’s Leclerc battling and applying pressure to the Briton. However, the two Ferrari drivers would soon switch positions, as Leclerc’s tyres showed signs of wear and he began to struggle.

Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly suffered DNF’s from the race, whilst Russell claimed victory, Hamilton took second and Carlos Sainz.

Max Verstappen also claimed his fourth championship at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Verstappen, whilst still mathematically able to win the championship, would need to outscore Norris and Piastri significantly. There are still 83 points available across the three remaining Grands Prix and one remaining Sprint.

This weekend’s action is sure to bring the glitz and glamour of a night race, and combine it with the thrill and adrenaline of a street race. Many fans will be watching in anticipation of whether or not Norris can edge closer to claiming his maiden title, or whether teammate Piastri can close the gap and gain more traction in the title fight.
