Vandoorne, who is currently competing in the World Endurance Championship with Peugeot, has been with Aston Martin since 2023.

Previously, the Belgian driver has raced in Formula E where he won the championship in 2022. He also raced in Formula One with McLaren as well as serving as their Third and Test driver for a number of years.

After testing the AMR25 in Abu Dhabi, Vandoorne said:

"It's always valuable to get back in the car and contribute to the team's development.

"Today was focused on understanding the characteristics of the 2026 Pirelli tyres, and we were able to complete a full programme with plenty of representative running.

"The tyres behave differently to the current compounds, so getting an early read on them is important. I hope the team will be pleased with the data we're bringing back to the factory as we look ahead to next season."

Jak Crawford's 2026 racing plans have not been announced, however in 2025 he raced in Formula Two with DAMS Lucas Oil where he finished second in the standings and took four victories.

After being announced as Aston Martin's Third Driver in October 2025, Crawford said:

"I'm incredibly proud to be confirmed as Third Driver for 2026. It's a huge moment in my journey with Aston Martin Aramco and a big motivation to keep learning and contributing.

"Over the past two seasons, I've learned so much from being in the Formula One environment, both at the AMR Technology Campus and trackside. I'll be doing everything I can to support the team and continue developing as a driver."
