Mitch Evans moved clear of Sebastian Buemi on the all time Formula E wins list with an excellent drive from ninth place for Jaguar TCS. Porsche rounded off the podium with Nico Mueller and Pascal Wehrlein in tricky mixed conditions at the Miami Autodrome.

After a lengthy Safety Car start, a standing start was called and polesitter Mueller held the lead into turn one as second place Andretti driver Felipe Drugovich challenged in low grip conditions before opting to take his first Attack Mode before breezing past Mueller before multiple position swaps with Mahindra’s Nyck De Vries up to lap nine.

Further back, Citroën and Nissan struggled to impact the race, despite last race winner Nick Cassidy and reigning champion Oliver Rowland’s best efforts.

Drugovich dropped back some after over consuming his energy early on, as did Envision Racing’s Swedish rookie Joel Eriksson who had a solid start to the race fighting for positions from fourth to seventh.

Evans took his first attack mode from seventh on lap 19, battling through to third behind teammate Antonio Félix Da Costa and Mueller.

Mueller retook the lead from Da Costa on lap 25 and as Drugovich attempted to bring himself back into contention he missed a braking point, and smashed into the back of the Da Costa, damaging his front wing and gaining a 10 second penalty - to Evans’ benefit as the Portuguese dropped to sixth.

Evans then led from Mueller and Wehrlein for the remainder of the race as the midfield pack shuffled while remaining attack modes were being used.

Contact between Da Costa and Mahindra’s Edoardo Mortara on lap 40 was the only remaining notable moment, and Evans carried on to win and take his 15th win in Formula E, now clear of Envision’s veteran driver Sebastian Buemi.
